The Story Behind Hallowed Living
Hallowed Living isn’t just a brand—it’s a testament to the power of choice, resilience, and the ability to create a life that aligns with your authentic desires. Born from the real, lived experiences of overcoming adversity, Hallowed Living was created to help others recognize that life is about more than following social norms. It’s about embracing your own path, even when that path challenges the status quo.
As a child, I grew up as the only person of color in my school, facing racism and the absence of both my mother and father. Raised by my grandmother and great-grandmother, I found solace in journaling, capturing my thoughts and emotions as I navigated these challenges. Later, At age 21, I married my husband, a man I had known since eighth grade. We started a family, raising my siblings and eventually had five children while moving around the world as he served in the U.S. Army for 13 years. We built a strong and beautiful life, despite the frequent relocations. When he retired from active duty, we decided to return to our hometown, hoping it had progressed and that we could finally put down lasting roots close to family.
But what awaited us was a harsh reality. We faced intense racism, bullying, and harassment from both the community and local leadership. Our family business, a coffee shop, became a target, and even our home was not a safe haven. My mental health hit rock bottom as we struggled through years of mistreatment. We were left feeling isolated and betrayed by a community we had hoped to call home. The environment around us was suffocating, and we realized that we couldn’t thrive in a place unwilling to embrace forward progress.
It was during these difficult years that the idea of Hallowed Living resurfaced from journals I’d written throughout my life. As I sought comfort in my journals and was looking for things I could improve in myself. I began to notice recurring patterns in the stages of creation and evolution—patterns I had seen throughout my life. I developed these insights into what I now call the Hallowed Living Method. This method, which identifies six key stages of creation, became the framework through which my husband and I rebuilt our lives. By intentionally engaging with these stages, we were able to break free from negative cycles and make difficult choices—like closing our business and relocating—that ultimately led us to a life we truly desire.
Despite the challenges, from closing our business to facing my husband’s PTSD and my own mental health struggles, we used the Hallowed Living Method to build something beautiful. We relocated, reopened our business as a food truck, and are now thriving in a community where we are supported and welcomed. Our story is proof that sometimes, you cannot thrive in places that resist progress and change—but you can always choose to create something new.
At Hallowed Living, we believe that living is about more than conforming to social norms. We help others recognize the power of choice in all aspects of creation and evolution. The Hallowed Living Method is designed to guide you through these stages of life, helping you break free from negative cycles and intentionally build a life that is authentic to you and your family.
We offer more than just a method—we offer tools for self-care, like our curated coffee and tea, and support for homeschooling and sustainable living. Through our Harmony Hub, we provide spiritual insights, community Gather sessions, and resources that help you live in alignment with your true self. And as an author, I share these lessons and stages of evolution in my upcoming book, told through a fictional story that reflects the transformative power of this method.
Hallowed Living is about more than simply surviving—it’s about thriving by creating a life that truly reflects who you are, beyond societal expectations. We’re here to help you discover the support you need, choose your own path, and build your unique, Hallowed Life.
